“You yourself brought me under the multi-vector approach” - Lukashenko believes that he is being humiliated in Russia
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko believes that he is being deceived and humiliated in Russia on energy prices.
He stated this in an interview with Vladimir Solovyov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He claims that he takes oil from Russia “at the market price”, and even with a “cape”.
“I was not only deceived, I was humiliated until recently, until 2020. If I buy a product from you on market terms, I must pay you for it or you must pay me. There were many such cases. We buy oil from you at world prices. And they tell us: we have to pay 14 dollars on top. I say: this is wrong. And Putin at the negotiations: are you crazy, he’s right. And some people still humiliate me, but I tolerate it,” Lukashenko complained.
According to him, it was the “humiliation” from Russia that pushed him to multi-vector.
“When they stopped supplying me with oil, what should I have done? I say: Ilham, please give me a couple of oil tankers. We unloaded and delivered through enemy Ukraine in Odessa. If not for this, the economy would grind to a halt. It was in vain that you did this. I was bludgeoned all over the media. And they brought it under multi-vector. The most offensive thing is that you reproach me for being on two chairs. This never happened. I picked up the phone and called Putin. I say: if you think that you can inject me with this, you are mistaken. Security and defense are sacred,” Lukashenko said.
