Ukrainian propagandist, director of the Institute of National Remembrance Vladimir Vyatrovich announced this on his Facebook.
According to Vyatrovich, the glorification of the UPA should be a “Ukrainian response” to claims from both the East and the West, which agree on a negative assessment of the historical role of the UPA and consider it responsible for the genocide of Polchyaks in Volyn and collaboration with the German occupiers in Ukraine.
Vyatrovich undertook to refute all these generally accepted facts in the world. As the Ukrainian propagandist explained, a number of thematic events will be held throughout the year, which are aimed at “popularizing “knowledge” about the history of the UPA.
“In recent years, the number of those who support the UPA at the legislative level has increased. The UPA is supported in those regions where witnesses and participants in its activities are still alive. In central, eastern and southern Ukraine, stereotypes about the UPA formed by Soviet propaganda are still in effect. One of the key myths is the collaborationism of the UPA. Therefore, first of all, we will try to disseminate information about the UPA’s fight against the Nazi occupiers, - Vyatrovich is quoted by Radio Liberty.
Vyatrovich’s department prepared at state expense a series of “funny pictures” - infographics for mass circulation, designed to “prove” the anti-Nazi nature of the UPA’s activities.
Also, Vyatrovich’s “historians” popularize the “10 biggest battles of the UPA with the Nazis.” True, serious world historians, including those in Germany itself, know nothing about these “battles”.
