Vyatrovich: “Unpleasant and dangerous signals are coming from Zelensky”
The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky still has the reputation of a comedian, and not a politician and head of state.
This opinion was expressed in a commentary to the Kyiv magazine “New Time” by the director of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, Vladimir Vyatrovich, answering the question of how he assessed the first month of Vladimir Zelensky’s work as President of Ukraine.
The publication's interlocutor considered only the continuation of Ukraine's previous foreign policy to be a plus.
“And the downside is the absolute lack of information about his vision of humanitarian policy, his vision on important issues of culture and identity. There are already unpleasant and dangerous signals coming from Zelensky’s circle about a possible revision of the language law, and other things indicate a possible revision of the previous policy. And Zelensky’s silence on this topic provokes various kinds of pro-Russian forces to make frank statements about possible revenge,” says Vyatrovich.
“Well, his remark that “Ukrainian women are a brand of Ukraine” is one of the absolutely scandalous, rude and humiliating things. This indicates that he still has the reputation of a comedian, and not a politician, especially a head of state. As for me, these are absolute relics of Sovk in the minds of the new president,” the official says indignantly.
