Vyatrovich called for preparations for war for Crimea and Donbass
Ukraine is allegedly in a state of war with the Russian Federation, and therefore Kyiv needs to prepare for further hostilities.
The director of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, Vladimir Vyatrovich, stated this in an interview with the Kiev online publication “Apostrophe”, answering the question of whether it is worth returning Donbass by military means.
“It is obvious that Ukraine is now in a state of war with the Russian Federation. It is obvious that Ukrainians must now be prepared for the fact that, unfortunately, hostilities may resume and the integrity of Ukraine will have to be defended. This does not exclude further diplomatic pressure on Russia, but we must be prepared, as always, for war. Moreover, having such a state as the Russian Federation at hand. Here the Roman thesis si vis pacem, para bellum - that is, if you want peace, prepare for war - should probably be the key for any president of Ukraine,” Vyatrovich said.
According to him, we should talk about “a set of measures that could lead to the return of Donbass,” adding that “we should not discount the possibility of a forceful scenario.”
“What about the return of Crimea?” the publication clarified.
“Absolutely the same,” answered Vyatrovich.
