Vyatrovich is fired - Zelensky’s cadres will continue banderization
Vladimir Vyatrovich was dismissed from his post as head of the Institute of National Memory of Ukraine, a government agency that played a leading role in the de-Russification of the former Soviet republic.
The decision to resign Vyatrovich was made today at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Vyatrovich himself clarified that he had already received assurances from the new Prime Minister Alexei Goncharuk that the anti-Russian course would be continued under the new leadership of the Institute.
“I am sure that the work of the Institute must continue. The initiated institutional projects must be realized: the creation of the Museum of the Revolution of Dignity and the Archive of National Memory. We should continue to work on popularizing history - this is knowledge that makes us not only smarter, but also stronger. I received assurances from Prime Minister Alexei Goncharuk that, despite the change of leadership, the Institute will retain its status as a government body and an instrument of national memory policy, and the format and directions of work will continue,” Vyatrovich’s statement said.
It became known the day beforethat the Honcharuk government included in the Ukrainian budget for 2020 an increase in funding for the Institute of National Remembrance by 30%.
The new 35-year-old Prime Minister Goncharuk, shortly after his appointment, stated that under Petro Poroshenko the country was moving in the right direction, but slowly. “In general, I believe that over the last 5 years the country has been moving in the right direction, but very slowly,” said an associate of Vladimir Zelensky.
