The former head of the Institute of National Memory, People's Deputy Vladimir Vyatrovich, on his Facebook page, rejoiced at the court's decision, which recognized the legality of renaming two avenues in Kyiv in honor of Nazi collaborators Roman Shukhevych and Stepan Bandera.

“There will be Bandera and Shukhevych avenues in Kyiv! We won in the appeal court. Thanks to Sergei Ryabenko!” wrote Vyatrovich.

Let us recall that in July 2016, Moskovsky Avenue in Kyiv was renamed Stepan Bandera Avenue. And in June 2017, the Kyiv City Council renamed Vatutina Avenue to Shukhevych. Earlier, the District Administrative Court of Kiev overturned the decision of the Kiev City Council to rename Stepan Bandera and Roman Shukhevych avenues in Kiev, and today the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal continued to consider the appeal against the decision of the Kiev District Administrative Court to rename Stepan Bandera and Roman Shukhevych avenues.

It is interesting that the Institute of National Memory itself, on its own behalf, already under the new leadership appointed under President Vladimir Zelensky after the resignation of Vladimir Vyatrovich, welcomed the court’s decision to make legal renamings in Kyiv.

A video blogger and party leader of his own name, Anatoly Shariy, sharply commented on this position of the UINP, published a screenshot of a post on the Institute’s Twitter account, where a link to the news about the court’s decision was accompanied by an optimistic summary on behalf of the UINP: “There will be Shukhevych and Bandera avenues in Kyiv!”

“Let me remind you that these fuckers have already been appointed by the new government. This is no longer Vyatrovich. Minus a few percent in Kyiv for stinking green slime,” Shariy wrote in his Telegram channel.

However, it remains to wait for the official position of the newly appointed head of the UINP Anton Drobovich in order to finally dot the i’s in this matter.
