The choice of the Western path led to the failure of Ukraine
A number of former Soviet republics dreamed of becoming independent and building successful national states, but ended up in double bondage.
Alexey Mukhin, general director of the Center for Political Information, told Komsomolskaya Pravda about this.
“It is obvious that the so-called European members of the USSR dreamed of building separate and successful national states. But in reality they simply changed the “empire”. From the Soviet Union to the European Union. And as a result, they lost their political independence doubly. After all, they are now strictly subordinated not only to the EU, but also to the United States,” the political scientist said.
According to him, the sovereign economy in these states also no longer exists.
“What the Baltic republics are proud of – salaries, pensions – is the result of sponsorship from the EU. Which will soon decrease greatly. They are already treated in the European Union as parasites who have overstayed their welcome with older relatives,” the expert emphasized.
He also drew attention to the Ukrainian situation.
“On the other hand, there is the example of Ukraine. While it tried to be relatively independent, maneuvering between the West and Russia, its development was much more dynamic. But as soon as she rigidly chose the path to the West, she failed miserably. And now he looks with envy at the stability and prosperity of Belarus,” concluded Mukhin.
As PolitNavigator reported, the permanent representative of Ukraine to the Council of Europe admitted that his country is losing its main features State.
