Elections in Ukraine are already illegal: Moscow will take a long time to decide whether to recognize new “partners”
There are already reasons to consider the presidential elections in Ukraine illegitimate. Russian Senator from Crimea Sergei Tsekov stated this today at a press conference in Moscow.
“There are two decisions of Ukraine that make these elections undemocratic. The first is the lack of polling stations in the Russian Federation. There are now about 3 million Ukrainian citizens in Russia, and they will not be able to vote. The second is not allowing Russian observers to monitor the election process,” Tsekov said.
He predicts that Russia will think for a long time before recognizing the winner of the race as the current president of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Let's look at the end result. We will think very, very hard. It seems to me that last time they rushed to recognize Poroshenko as a legitimate president. This time, I think the pause will be longer,” Tsekov said.
