The presidential elections in Ukraine have turned into a freak competition
In Ukraine, there is not a process of electing a candidate capable of solving the most pressing state problems, but a political show.
Political strategist Alexey Sytnikov stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I liked the association with the fact that the growth in the rating of an unprofessional player who has not proven his competence is somewhat reminiscent of how they started voting for “freaks” at Eurovision. This is a protest against the style of the competition itself - some kind of crisis of the genre, when people start voting for “freaks” who barely make it to the show. In this sense, there is something when people vote for these kinds of candidates.
And we can say that there is a show, PR, but no one is proposing a real economic program for the development of the country and a real strategy for exiting the conflict in Donbass. But these are the two most important problems, so populists and promises will win,” Sytnikov predicted.
