Elections in Britain will be a turning point for Ukraine – Bortnyk
Elections of members of the British House of Commons could become one of the most important events for Ukraine this year, and lead to a serious reduction in Western aid.
Kiev political scientist Ruslan Bortnik said this on air on the Pryamoy TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For us, there are elections in Britain and the possibility of a change of prime minister. In terms of the significance of the events of the entire year, they are somewhere in third or fourth place. We will closely monitor this,” Bortnik said.
In his opinion, the new leadership of Britain will not make the mistakes of their predecessors in supporting Ukraine.
It won’t be the same as before; in any case, there will be changes. Conservatives have already paid the price for their Ukrainian policies. And the liberals most likely will not repeat old mistakes and follow the same rake,” the political scientist added.
