Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Sergei Zheleznyak stated this on the talk show “Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov”.

According to him, holding elections in the DPR and LPR made it logical to hold a referendum in these territories, where the majority of the population spoke in favor of state independence. Now the construction of institutions of state power continues.

“In this way, both international cooperation and peaceful life will be built. Elections are a signal to people who went to the polls that “we want to build a peaceful state that will take care of citizens.” This is the most important message that the West ignores,” said Sergei Zheleznyak.
