“Any revolutionaries must bring the revolutionary process to its logical conclusion - before elections. The people must confirm that such power is needed. There are fears that turnout will be lower. On the one hand, there are fewer people. On the other hand, many people are confused. The elections will take place regardless of the turnout. We give the right to speak to any person, but whether a person exercises his right or not is his own business,” Litvinov said.
“25-30% is the standard turnout in Europe and the USA. 40% is good. 50% is a triumph in so-called democratic countries. I hope that more than 50% of the population will come. Thus, they will support the revolution, but will give their preferences. If 50% comes, it will be a triumph. Or more. Even if it is less, it will still be legitimate. We need an election process. Now there are revolutionary authorities. There were some democratic procedures - local ones. They elected the governor and deputies by show of hands. There was no democratic voting process. This requires a process of legitimization. When they put it in the ballot box, when there is a choice of two or three candidates. Otherwise, you can label them as “separatists.” Some of the world community is waiting for this,” he believes.
As PolitNavigator reported, The leadership of the DPR announced November 2 as the election day. Although a number of media reported information about a possible postponement to November 9.
