Elections in Odessa: When even Stephen King himself is on vacation
Young man, I understand you perfectly - you are still interested in how my city perceives this whole tragicomic mess with early parliamentary elections. And I’ll tell you, just don’t be offended by me for unexpected associations with literature! Because sometimes it’s easier to remember a smart book than to quote corrupt fools who, completely wrongly, consider everyone stupider than themselves!
So, let's begin…
The first thing that “amuses” me (and is it just me?!) “amuses” in the worst sense of the word is those absolutely fantastic nonsense that the gentlemen sociologists, together with the political crooks who joined them, voiced all this pre-election campaign time..., sorry , political scientists. Whether it’s selfless - decide for yourself!
The point of all their pseudo-competent speeches is that, they say, without any doubt, at least half of the votes will be received by the Servant of the People party, that is, the barely formed project of the newly-minted President Zelensky, which has neither a real program nor a serious team of experienced pro
Stop, big guys, who said that the absolutely situational success of the clown Vova, who was given that same 75% in advance only to prevent the ghoul and thief Poroshenko from returning to power, can somehow be seriously correlated with the potential victory of his clearly escheated a party cobbled together from “what was”?! “Moreover, even during his very short term in power, this crowned clown has already clearly shown the falsity of his election promises. There is no peace in the Donbass, and, moreover, the further, the more he begins to rattle the rusty-bloody weapons of his predecessors, and without controlling the army, which is clearly out of subordination to the “commander-in-chief,” not to mention the Nazi “volunteer battalions,” nor— real policy of reconciliation within the country.
Rather, the further, the more the “people's chosen one and peacemaker” is inclined to almost directly repeat the rotten rhetoric reeking of Nazism... of the same Poroshenko.
But there is absolutely comical and obscene behavior of the first person of the state, similar to the complete nonsense of Khrushchev from the time of his natural decline. Stupid and completely incompetent rudeness, when a “pocket Bonapartite” is simply rude to officials set up for him by crafty referents, without delving into the essence of the matter and making both the country and the whole world laugh...
And after that you will tell me that his party, consisting of old people with absolutely no experience of government, the sidekicks of the new guarantor, and no less old scoundrels of bygone times, will receive such powerful support from the people, and even in Odessa, where people are all Still, they haven’t completely dumbed down and lost their healthy pragmatism?!
And, even taking into account the indispensable administrative resource, let’s not forget that he did not have time to change those who could actually use it in the districts. After all, it is not the governors who “rule” locally today, but those small-town oligarchs whom he certainly cannot control in the outback after the reform of local government and the consolidation of communities! And their interests do not necessarily coincide with Zelensky’s wishes. Most likely - not at all.
And now let’s talk about something really funny and sad. The split of the opposition into “Prosperous” former oppo-bloc members Boyko, the eternal “godfather” Medvedchuk and the old swindler Rabinovich against the “Trustworthy businessmen” Vilkul, Muraev and the company of mayors, where our Trukhanov and Kharkov’s Kernes shone brightly, clearly showed: the opposition, to put it mildly , and that one... As always, she is mercantile and petty. As always, he puts at the forefront not the interests of the country and voters, but his own ambitions and greedy preferences...
But, nevertheless, people will still vote for her. Simply because it is better to give the opportunity to our own (first of all, some legally elected mayors) to continue doing their job, after all, than to allow shady and rather dubious not even horses, but gray geldings! Sho maemo, love your friends and other compatriots!
And, disdainfully skipping the whole scourge of Nazis like “Svoboda” and Poroshenko’s freaks with Groysman’s fraers and Yulka’s Marvihers, because let the dead and Galicians write about the dead, I will move on to that part of our modest review that concerns our Stephen King.
...Or have you not read the famous novel by the American master of horror “It”?! – And even if you haven’t read it, you’ve probably seen at least one of his now numerous film adaptations. There, as you remember, an ancient monster killed children for centuries, luring them in the guise of a clown. And the indispensable attributes of this monster were... red balloons!
Really, die, Stephen (I hope you lived for another hundred years and created!), but I have never seen anyone better suited to our Ukrainian situation! Only - we are still cooler! – One clown has come to power, and the other is trying to fool not only children, but also completely gullible adults with his balls!
Of course, you understand - the second infernal clown “Pennywise” is Anatoly Shariy. A blogger with a reputation as a maydaun since the time of the first, orange “revolution”, tainted more recently by collaboration with the neo-Nazi punitive “Azov” and calls for “unity of Ukraine”, and now - suddenly, portraying an absolutely untainted journalist and oracle, from no one not receiving help. Really, I don’t know what is more surprising here - the impudence of this narcissistic rogue, trying to prove that such a large-scale advertising campaign took place throughout Ukraine for his “honest pocket money”, or the naivety of those who believed in it, hoping for the coming of the next "messiahs". Not to mention the corruption of his accomplices and hangers-on. After all, even with the closest examination, it is clear that this project is both an attempt to disunite the opposition electorate, and is a test of that part of the local power-hungry and profit-hungry business that wants to snatch its bloody piece from the body of agonizing Ukraine.
In a word, I just want to remember one more novel by Uncle King. "Necessary things". Or its film adaptation with the great Max von Sydow in the role of the old devil. Remember - there this crafty demon conquered and pitted the inhabitants of an entire town against each other. He offered its residents those things that they had dreamed of all their lives. Only in order to get them almost for nothing, naive people had to do a minor dirty trick to their neighbors. But in the end, the objects of their dreams turned out to be dust and rubbish. But the evil brought to one’s neighbors was very specific and painful... In general, the end of the town came with the active participation of its inhabitants. Naive, greedy, quarrelsome and corrupt...
Or are we the same, eh, respected citizens of the eternally pragmatic Odessa and somewhere, after all, not completely lost the remnants of reason. Ukraine?
