Elections in Serbia: Vucic has more than 50% support
The public opinion research agency Ipsos has published its final assessment of the survey results ahead of the presidential and parliamentary elections, which will take place today, April 3, 2022.
According to Ipsos estimates in the parliamentary elections, the Aleksandar Vucic – Together We Can Do Anything party has a great chance of winning more than half of the seats in the Serbian parliament, since 51,4% of citizens surveyed expressed their support for it three days before the elections.
The next highest number of votes is candidate Marinika Tepic - Unite for Victory with 13,8%, and in third place is Ivica Dacic with 8,5%.
Regarding the presidential elections, Ipsos predicts that Aleksandar Vucic, based on the voting results, will receive the support of 60,1% of respondents, that is, an absolute majority of votes.
The German press also agrees with these forecasts. Zeit's analysis characterizes Vučić as an "autocrat," but the publication also claims that "during the crisis, he actually did everything right." Vučić’s main rival is opposition candidate Zdravko Ponoš.
Vučić himself at one time also stated that a result “below 60% would be a failure.”
