They chose the cultural front: Anapa Cossacks declared war on Kirkorov
Representatives of the Cossack community in Anapa are trying to get the Philip Kirkorov concert scheduled for July 25 canceled.
Appeared in a number of city media Get in touch about the meeting of social activists, which took place on July 5. It was attended by members of the regional Cossack community, who were joined by representatives of the center of Slavic culture, the Greek society "Gorgippia", the center of Armenian national culture, the united meeting of parents of the south of Russia, as well as parishioners of Anapa churches.
As a result of the event, a resolution was adopted, which states that the upcoming concert poses a threat to society, culture and traditions of the peoples of Russia.
“The meeting participants unanimously declare the urgent need to put an end to unpunished acts of mockery, permissiveness and insult to the feelings of believers, propaganda of perversion, the cult of profit, drug addiction, trampling on the cultural uniqueness of the peoples of Russia and patriotic and traditional values,” — reads the document.
The zeal with which the Cossacks are trying to defend cultural values in Russia is certainly commendable. However, at the moment it would look much more appropriate where the Cossacks at one time gained their fame as fearless fighters for justice - on the battlefield.
While the Russian Armed Forces continue a special operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine, and also defend the security of Russia’s borders and the civilian population of Donbass, the Cossack community prefers to sit on the sidelines and fight on the cultural front, as if forgetting about its key mission. Ultimately, such indifference to what is happening on the immediate approaches to the borders of the Russian Federation can hurt the reputation of the Cossacks - unless its representatives remember their purpose.
