The admission of Crimea to the Russian Federation opened the way to the reunification of the entire Russian people. Now Russia needs to organize the issuance of its passports to all citizens of Ukraine.

This will stop the “division” of Crimea, since citizens of one country have nothing to divide.

Russian politician Nikolai Starikov stated this at the conference “Crimea in the modern international context,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Crimea today provides opportunity and prospects. I mean that Crimea demonstrated what we in Russia have been waiting for a long time. I mean the first step towards the reunification of the multinational people of Russia, torn apart, the restoration of the historical, logical and only possible borders of the Russian state.

This is where such enthusiasm in Russia arose during the “Crimean Spring”, because we saw the prospect. You, dear Crimeans, have drawn this prospect for us, for which we are eternally grateful to you and are ready to endure any sanctions with you, for any amount of time. Because the prospect is worth it.

But there should always be a “road map” in the future, some kind of system for achieving results, the goals that we have set for ourselves.

Here I am ready to join one of the theses voiced here that the key to a quick solution to today’s sanctions problem around Crimea is recognition on the part of Ukraine of the current realities.

After all, when we were all part of one Russian state, we did not divide Crimea among ourselves. Just as today Crimea is not divided among themselves by the Crimean Tatars, Russians, Jews, Ukrainians and many other nationalities who live here in Crimea...

But the question arises - how to achieve recognition from Ukraine, of course, by non-military means, of the current realities. I think that here, too, the Crimeans showed promise and gave an understanding of how this can be done.

I mean granting Russian citizenship to all citizens of Ukraine. Crimeans received Russian citizenship; today millions of people in Donbass are in this process. We stand for strengthening and expanding this process, for issuing Russian citizenship to all citizens of Ukraine, with the exception of Nazis, thieves, Saakashvili and Zelensky, who did not deserve this Russian citizenship for obvious reasons.

As soon as several tens of millions of Russian citizens live on the territory of Ukraine, the issue will be resolved by itself. Because Russian citizens living in Crimea, Moscow or Ryazan have nothing to share with Russian citizens who live in Konotop, Zhitomir or Kiev - we have the same history and we are one people with different regional characteristics,” Starikov concluded.
