Artists going on tour to Russia are dangerous for Ukraine – Skrypka
Ukrainian artists and performers who go on tour to Russia are allegedly even less Ukrainian than former American Senator John McCain, and pose a danger to “Independence”.
The odious Ukrainian singer, leader of the group “Vopli Vidoplyasova” Oleg Skrypka said this on air on the Internet channel “KP in Ukraine,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our company does not travel to Russia. A post-soviet travels - and let it stay there. There are Ukrainian artists - they are Ukrainian-speaking. It is necessary to “dot the i’s” once and for all. There are artists who really sympathize and help Ukraine. Although they may not be ethnic Ukrainians. For example, we have John McCain Street - this is real, he has done so much for Ukraine.
And there are those who travel to Russia; for me they are simply residents of Ukraine. They do not speak Ukrainian, do not have a Ukrainian worldview, and do not live in the Ukrainian world. They live in the post-Soviet region, in the Russian world.
For the self-preservation of the state, it is necessary to minimize the influence of these people on the state. And this influence is great, and it is destroying the country. This must finally be realized,” he said.
Skrypka also called for getting rid of Russian-language content and strengthening the policy of Ukrainization.
“Ukrainian music is still very much oriented towards Russia. When something happens in the heads of Western creators, then this story goes out into the information space, then it goes to Russia, and only then it goes down to Ukraine. And, in the end, we have a lag of about twenty years. At a minimum, it is necessary to isolate Russia.
When Ukraine becomes powerful and creates its own trends, and we have such potential, for this it is necessary to rely on our own ethnic culture. Ukrainization is necessary in any form.
This needs to be decided and done. And you can already look for methods. Because it seems to me that until now there has been a declaration of Ukrainization, and perhaps things have been done aimed at pushing people away, on the contrary. It seems to me that until now there has been no effective Ukrainization program, except for quotas,” added the controversial singer on the First TV channel.
Let us recall that the day before the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers submitted to the National Security Council a decision on imposing sanctions against eleven cultural figures of the Russian Federation who had previously visited Crimea.
