Biden's rise to first place results in new troubles for Ukraine
The flaring political struggle during the current election campaign in the United States promises Ukraine many problems.
The director of the Diplomatic Academy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Sergei Korsunsky, writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He points out that during the last primaries, former Vice President John Biden, who is suspected of corruption in Ukraine, became the leader of the contenders for the Democratic Party presidential nomination.
According to the author, the higher Biden’s chances of winning, “the stronger Trump’s pressure on the Ukrainian authorities.”
“We should expect that Joe Biden’s return to the leadership of the race will not pass without a trace for Ukraine. The campaign with Burisma, Shokin and Rudy Giuliani, which had been quiet, may well flare up with renewed vigor. It is not certain that, unlike the Republicans, the Biden team is ready for a new round of accusations. All this means that another run between raindrops awaits us ahead. And umbrellas won’t help, everything will be determined by the sprinter’s skill,” sums up Korsunsky.
Let us recall that while Biden served as vice president, his son found himself in the leadership of the Burisma company, which produced and sold gas in Ukraine.
Moreover, Biden admitted that he blackmailed the leadership of Ukraine, demanding the dismissal and calling the objectionable Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin a “son of a bitch.”
In turn, Shokin claims that Biden demanded his dismissal for investigating the illegal activities of Burisma. This fact is against Biden now used by the current president's lawyers USA Donald Trump.
At the same time, Trump is allegedly demanding that the Ukrainian leadership open a criminal case against Biden.
