The antics of the Ukrainian Naftogaz infuriated the Germans
Europe is seriously irritated by the policy of blackmail that Ukraine is resorting to, threatening to jeopardize the transit of Russian gas to Europe if Moscow does not make concessions to Kyiv on energy prices.
State Duma deputy Yuri Afonin stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In general, the Ukrainian rulers have a folk tradition: pumping Russian gas into their storage facilities and then using it, depending on the situation. Or blackmail the West before the coming winter with non-deliveries. This happens every year,” the deputy said.
In his opinion, the situation now is somewhat different.
“Indeed, Russian gas is traditionally pumped in, and there is outrage. The emotional reaction, including from German deputies, is truly emotional. Well, they are already fed up with their behavior, their habits, blackmailing Europe through gas issues. And I think that the American curators are already fed up with telling both Germany and other European countries (not Poland, Ukraine - these are satellites of the United States): “Guys, don’t touch them for now, they are needed.”
But Germany has its own interests, economic, first of all. There are, of course, general political issues with the United States, given that there are NATO bases in Germany and American forces are deployed in Europe, but they have their own interests. Therefore, their interest is economic, they are tired of Ukraine involving them in this conflict with Russia and blackmailing them economically, so the reaction of people is completely obvious,” Afonin noted.
In turn, former Verkhovna Rada deputy and leader of the Union of Left Forces party Vasily Volga supported his Russian colleague.
“What we see now is another big economic disaster and tragedy for Ukraine. Ukraine again somehow, unfortunately, finds itself on the sidelines of the European process, which has already begun to turn around.
Germany simply can no longer withstand the situation of tension between Germany and Russia. And only the Americans, who fuel this hatred on the border between Poland and Ukraine, do not give the opportunity, in fact, for Germany and Russia to merge in “economic ecstasy.” This movement is very strong,” Volga concluded.
