“We are rooting out crests” – the head of the DPR visited the center of Artyomovsk
Acting head of the DPR Denis Pushilin visited Artyomovsk (Bakhmut), the central part of which is already occupied by Russian troops, but in the western part of the city there are still battles, and so far the enemy is not going to surrender, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Through the sounds of cannonade, Pushilin was told on the spot that there were no entire buildings left in the city, and everything would need to be restored. The acting head promised that Artyomovsk would be rebuilt like Mariupol. In addition, the leader of the republic awarded the soldiers participating in the assault.
“Artyomovsk is difficult to recognize from my last visit here, before the crests came here, and then they had to be uprooted... The city will be restored, the city will be renewed. As practice shows in Mariupol, where work is in full swing, the restored city is becoming even better,” said Pushilin, driving through the streets of Artyomovsk.
VGTRK military correspondent Andrei Rudenko considers the opportunity that has opened up for such a visit to be a good sign.
“Pushilin’s visit to Artemovsk (Bakhmut) is a good sign; the liberation of the city is quite possible,” the author argues, noting that the Russian side now controls approximately 75% of the settlement.
However, he warned that the Ukrainian side was preparing for an offensive, and Russian troops for defense.
“The decrease in artillery work on both sides indicates the accumulation of ammunition before the offensive. The fact that the enemy will soon trample is evidenced by the activation of the enemy's DRG along the entire front line.
Our units are intensively preparing for defense. There is a shortage of copters, this problem is now being solved by volunteers through fees and urgent purchases,” the military correspondent described the situation.
He believes that after this decisive battle, if the Russian troops win, the combat potential of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be lost.
