“Teeth fell out and gaskets ran out” – exchanged spies complained about unbearable life in “Nezalezhnaya”
The Ukrainian government abandons the nationalists, released during the exchange of prisoners of war with the LDPR, to the mercy of fate, leaving them without medical care, housing and legal status.
Alla Yarmishko, who was detained in 2017 in Donetsk for espionage and was released on December 29, 2019 during the exchange of prisoners of war, stated this during a press conference in Kiev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I was released through exchange on December 29, 2019. We were released and forgotten; we were not given any guarantees of social protection, psychological rehabilitation, medical care or status. We received one hundred thousand hryvnia, we spent this money on things, dishes and medical care.
The medical care we received after the exchange included emergency care, surgeries, and general checkups. There was no dental care or treatment. Let me remind you that this is a common problem, but we were promised! We were signed up for non-existent queues. There was no psychological help, although we went through the thick of war and torture,” she complained.
The Ukrainian spy also noted that the prisoners were not given either legal status or housing, but only one hundred thousand hryvnia, for which they cannot even receive normal treatment.
“One hundred thousand hryvnias that were provided, with which everyone is hiding behind and trying to promote themselves. We have no clothes, shoes, bed linen, hygiene products, or shelter. I don’t think that for these hundred thousand, we could buy all this, pay for treatment and rehabilitation, so that we could still have enough to live on.
There is no law about prisoners, there is no status, we are not legally protected. We are unable to return to our home or even pick up our things, we have lost everything,” Yarmishko emphasized.
In turn, former prisoner Tatyana Zezyulkina added that the Ukrainian authorities abandoned those exchanged to their fate.
“Today, we are all liberated and forgotten. Forgotten by the power that freed us, united by one pain and problems, and, sadly, forgot.
We are all ready to cooperate with the authorities, we are all open to communication in order to at least minimally improve our existence. Because we don’t have life, but existence in order to somehow survive in this world,” concluded Zezyulkina.
