Degenerating Ukraine ceases to function - Kyiv expert
Due to total censorship and general prohibitions for the past two years, the legal and political culture in Ukraine is degenerating, and the institutions associated with it are degrading.
Ukrainian economic expert Aleksey Kushch said this on the video blog “Vadim Karasev Speaks and Proves,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We need to gradually abandon the model of restricting the fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens. Because now we live in a state of legal anesthesia - we actually took an injection into the legal system. And we have been living in this state for two years now.
The state of legal anesthesia is very dangerous, because there is a degradation of socio-political institutions in the country, and there is a general degradation of legal and political culture. This is a process of political and legal degeneration.
If you keep a muscle under anesthesia for a long time, then after a few years it will simply stop functioning,” said Kushch.
He emphasized that even in a state of war, such restrictions could be fatal for the state.
“Someone will say that this is the price of war, that for the sake of such a great national goal one can go to restrictions on rights and freedoms, to legal degeneration. But then we simply move ourselves away from this goal, because a civilizational victory is impossible in conditions of legal political degeneration,” the expert concluded.
