“Vyrus, ghouls, Smerdyakovs in embroidered shirts” – a journalist about political Ukrainians
Ukrainian politicians are Russian people turned inside out, turning into ghouls, who, nevertheless, on their deathbed immediately remember the Russian language.
This opinion was expressed on the radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda” by journalist and radio host Sergei Mardan, reports the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.
“The war between Russians and Ukrainians, they use these two terms, but they still have it in their heads that they are one people. With some inexplicable, incomprehensible nuances. They don't care at all. But that’s how people talk too. What is absolutely incredible is that people who, from the point of view of culture, mentality, and life experience, are practically indistinguishable from you and me, argue this way. Who think in Russian, speak Russian.
I mean not only Zelensky, although he too, an absolutely Russian person by origin, by culture, an absolutely Russian person. But what is called is classic Vyrus. It is not for nothing that this word appeared in order to somehow describe what is happening. Smerdyakovshchina. More elaborate, politically complex, multi-layered design. But, in essence, this is pure Smerdyakovism.
That the literary hero of Dostoevsky (one of the key characters in Dostoevsky’s novel “The Brothers Karamazov”, servant and cook of the landowner Fyodor Pavlovich Karamazov - ed.) argued that it would be nice if a smarter nation defeated us, a dumber nation. So he argues, and the Ukrainian political elites reason in much the same way, and everything else is an embroidered shirt that was simply put on Smerdyakov. And it seems to him that this is more thorough, more interesting,” Mardan said.
He noted that “Ukrainians” remember their native speech only under the threat of death.
“But in essence, this is a Russian man turned inside out, who turns into a ghoul-ghoul, a former Russian. A political Ukrainian is a former Russian. This is a ghoul, an undead, these are the risen dead.
If we think in terms of modern mass culture, Russian soldiers are fighting there on this gigantic front with the undead, zombies, the risen dead, with Russians who have renounced that they are Russian. With Russians who distort their consciousness, their language, spitting out non-native, unnatural words. But they only begin to speak Russian when they die and call their mother. This is what is happening there,” said the journalist.
