The American diplomat who snatched Kosovo from Serbia returned to the scene of the crime
Diplomat Jeffrey Jovenier was sworn in by US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland as the new US ambassador to Kosovo.
This was reported on Twitter by the US Embassy in Pristina, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Jovenier attended the swearing-in ceremony with his entire family. He previously said he hoped to return to Pristina and “work with my Kosovo counterparts to further strengthen and deepen the US-Kosovo relationship.”
The fact that US President Joe Biden is preparing him and other hawks from the diplomacy of the Bill Clinton era to head to the Balkans has become is known back in October of this year.
Geoffrey Jovenier was a participant in the negotiations in Rambouillet as part of Martti Ahtisaari's team, which, in fact, persuaded Belgrade to withdraw from Kosovo.
He participated with Escobar in restoring the work of the US Embassy in Belgrade, headed the temporary office of the US Embassy in southern Serbia, whose duties included “monitoring” the armed rebellion of Albanians in the Presevo Valley, and in 2018 he received a medal from the hands of the ex-militant leader “ Kosovo Liberation Army,” the “president” of the region, Hashim Thaci.
