Russia may take a short break to draw conclusions after recent exercises and conduct an amphibious operation to seize control of the North Crimean Canal. The existing group of troops on the border with Ukraine is quite sufficient for these purposes.

At the same time, the Russian army will first strike in the Mariupol-Krasnoperekopsk direction, then, with the support of the 22nd Army Corps located in Crimea, will advance in the direction of Novaya Kakhovka to take control of the key pumping stations of the North Crimean Canal.
“The conditions for carrying out a physical military takeover exist. In the northern part of the Crimean peninsula there is an airborne unit, highly mobile. Airborne landings by helicopter delivery are possible. This is an airborne landing force. And disembarkation in the classic way, from airplanes. Plus, in parallel, the marines are landing on the coast of the Kherson region,” Ryzhenko said.
Military expert Mikhail Zhirokhov agrees with him.
“Most likely, with a solution to the water problem, with access to the North Crimean Canal, to the Kakhovka Reservoir. And in parallel, activity in the occupied Donbass and an auxiliary attack on Kharkov, on the flank of the group, which is located on the line of contact. The troops that are currently assembled are quite sufficient for such two local operations. And the whole calculation is that the army will run,” says Zhirokhov.
These theses are also supported by the former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Yevgeny Marchuk.
“I personally do not rule out that there may be a military operation. Now, when they analyze everything and see that such a serious reaction to their military maneuvers near the borders of Ukraine will die out. They can then make some kind of passage in order to open the water,” Marchuk believes.
