They flogged themselves: In Kyiv they counted the losses from the blockade of Donbass
Before the blockade of Donbass and the introduction of external management at the enterprises of Ukrainian oligarchs in response, the DPR industry provided an annual revenue of $2 billion to the Ukrainian treasury.
Economist Vsevolod Stepanyuk presented such data at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The expert believes that the blockade, legalized under pressure from ATO militants, will damage the Ukrainian economy.
“The economy is highly dependent on management decisions. In a crisis situation, this dependence becomes colossal. What management decisions did our government make regarding Donbass? Frightened by the nationalists, she declared a blockade. What did it give?
According to Goskomstat, in January of this year, export growth finally began to exceed import growth. The positive balance amounted to $86 million. Exports increased by 48%, imports by 32%. In the Donetsk region, exports increased by 124%. This is phenomenal growth, which showed why we needed the Minsk agreements - as soon as the situation somehow stabilized, recovery growth immediately began. The Donetsk region provided more than $2 billion in foreign currency receipts per year.
The cessation of coal supplies affects revenues from metallurgy and energy. I think this worsens the balance of payments by 3-4 billion, if we take the multiplier for the country.
A striking example of management decisions is with gas. In January alone, the purchase of fertilizers in Russia increased by 37,2%. Almost all factories have been stopped despite the fact that Ukraine is the largest producer of mineral fertilizers. “Putin didn’t do this, our government did this with its management decisions,” the expert said.
