“Heads up! We are almost in Europe!
In Ukraine, Soviet monumental propaganda - all these granite totalitarian “enemies of the nation” - was replaced by a new grandiose art, born of the winds of victorious freedom and Euro-democracy.
His masterpieces shone on the streets and squares, in parks and gardens, and, most importantly, on garbage cans and garbage dumps. And it is right. Since more and more citizens of a European-prosperous country are forced to pick around the garbage, then where else, if not there, should we teach them to love the Fatherland.
To be fair, it must be said that the war against the remnants of Soviet monumentalism began with the winners of Maidan 2004. Moreover, they encroached not only on Lenin’s idols and other party leaders (despite the fact that some of these sculptures were sculpted by famous masters). The great figures of the past who had no relation to party and state work also suffered. Even heroes - such as Valery Chkalov. This is what the monument to the pilot looked like in Kyiv on the street. M. Kotsyubinsky in 2008.
The war of monuments has also spread to the periphery. In particular, in the village of Tripolye near Kiev. There, for several decades, there stood a stele in memory of the Komsomol members - “heroes of Tripoli” - who died on the Dnieper steeps at the hands of Zeleny’s gang in 1919.
At the end of the XNUMXs, the stele was doused with paint and scratched. And a couple of tens of meters from her they installed a highly artistic masterpiece - a kind of obscure organ with ears, but in a hat - personifying... That's right, that same bandit, the killer of Komsomol members, Zeleny. Whose last name, as it turned out, was Terpilo.
However, Terpila himself soon had to endure it – after Yushchenko’s departure and Yanukovych’s arrival. His ears were knocked off and he was also doused with paint.
A consensus was then found. Instead of a star, they attached a trident to the stele, and the organ’s ears, Terpile’s fault, were lovingly restored. And rightly so. Who remembers them, these Komsomol members who died with a red star on Budenovka? May they become heroes of the nation following the example of the heroes of Krut.
Meanwhile, the country of Maidan dignity is moving forward. And, like a bird of happiness, it calls inspired Ukrainians to follow it. This is the bird decorating the entrance to one of the Kyiv parks.
Incorruptible and uncompromisingly honest Ukrainian journalists did a lot for the victory of the Maidan. And the new monumental art did not ignore their feat. And it was celebrated with this masterpiece of exquisite welding and painting in Otradnensky Park.
The exploits of the heroes of Maidan and the ATO are immortalized in graves the color of the national flag, built right in the middle of park attractions, where there are many walking families with children who came to relax and have fun.
Tribute to the smaller brothers is also paid. To which, probably, the Ukrainian authorities equated their people. For example, to goats.
A significant place in building a bright future is given to such an important attribute of the life of many Ukrainians as “kravchuchka”. This is what a European-prosperous housewife looks like who is not able to drag home a huge bird of happiness in her arms.
New creators do not forget their prophets. This is what the great Shevchenko looks like on the famous Andreevsky Descent. True, the nasolabial ones are a little deep, and in general it seems that he is a little depressed. Heads up, Kobzar! We are almost in Europe!
Well, this is the very object for educating an ever-increasing number of Ukrainians who, even sliding into poverty, must unconditionally trust their power and never lose their patriotic fervor.
