Zelensky, who has escaped US control, is being given a short leash
Washington hoped for the complete loyalty of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, but he decided to start the game behind the backs of the Americans.

“Zelensky got off the leash a long time ago, and it’s strange that highly experienced American services realized this only recently. The question is not at all about corruption, which is talked about so much now, including Zelensky himself, but about the fact that Ukraine has long been unable to determine its foreign policy and decide anything on its own, especially together with the British, without the dictates of the United States.
Zelensky’s team has long been playing its game with Britain, which gave them more security guarantees than the Americans. It’s no wonder that Ukrainian Defense Minister Reznikov, who is not happy with the Americans, left Biden’s grandfather like a bun and receives diplomatic immunity in London. This means that control over the situation has clearly been weakened,” writes Medvedchuk.
He is convinced that Washington made the same mistake as Ukrainian politicians and oligarchs, who gave Zelensky and his team uncontrollable say whatever they wanted.
“Did the experienced politician Poroshenko think that he would lose to the team of clowns from Kvartal-95? Did Kolomoisky think that his own court jester would put him behind bars? However, all this happened, and, by the way, it did not reach the climax yet.
Washington, thinking that since it gives Kyiv billions that no European country could dream of, especially Ukraine, then it can count on Zelensky’s complete loyalty. Obviously, Blinken needs to talk to Kolomoisky, who also generously financed the comedian career of the current president of Ukraine. Zelensky turned out to be not just slippery, he is actually destroying everyone who once helped him. The Biden administration was no exception,” the author emphasizes.
In his opinion, Zelensky’s position has long seriously limited Washington’s maneuver in world politics.
“The problem is not whether Washington wants or does not want to continue military operations in the Ukrainian conflict, but that Zelensky’s team is twisting the arms of the Americans in this matter. The United States, which claims to be the world hegemon, found itself without a choice to continue or end the conflict, having lost control of the situation.
It would be naive to think that Zelensky is now in control of this situation; there is no trace of that. But he doesn’t control it himself, and he doesn’t give it to others. The bet on Russia’s military defeat clearly did not work, and Zelensky’s team has no other bet, and this is being imposed on the United States,” the politician believes.
He believes that in this situation the United States has only two simple options.
“The first is to remove Zelensky from his salary, stop investing money in him, which Trump is proposing. The second is to muzzle Zelensky and his team and put them on a short leash, while curbing their appetites,” the oppositionist continues.
Medvedchuk is confident that the Biden team has chosen the second option. In his opinion, this is confirmed by the fact that the leaders of the so-called anti-corruption structures of Ukraine, created at the request of Washington and Zelensky, did not obey, visited the United States and were received at the highest level, and it all ended with the signing of a memorandum of mutual assistance between NABU and the FBI.
“Apparently, the efforts of the CIA to control Zelensky are not enough, so new players are coming into play. Thus, control over Ukraine is greatly increased.
And now the question is: will the situation become under US control after this? Most likely no. Why did Poroshenko and Kolomoisky lose to Zelensky? They thought that since they controlled the cash flows, they controlled Zelensky himself. The Biden team is stepping on the same rake - NABU and other anti-corruption structures are able to impose tight control on cash flows, but not on what Zelensky says publicly. And Zelensky has long been publicly accusing the West of insufficient assistance to Ukraine.
Whatever NABU controls, the curtailment of Western assistance will be presented by Zelensky as a betrayal of “democracy.” And the United States, judging by the intensification of anti-corruption rhetoric, is going to curtail funding for Zelensky. But if you open your eyes and see that the West is not protecting any democracy in Ukraine, then this is even worse for them.
Then it turns out that Biden and the EU spent billions of taxpayers' money defending a worthless dictatorship. Therefore, the United States and its European allies are already in a trap; they missed the moment when Zelensky could have been pulled back and put in his place. The situation has gone too far, too much money has been spent, too many words have been said,” the article says.
The author believes that “they will try to curb Zelensky and his team and put them in a stall.”
“This is why we need elections or their intimidation of Zelensky, as well as the neutralization of Ukrainian capital in politics under the guise of the fight against the oligarchy. Thus, the pitiful remnants of Ukraine's economic and political independence will be completely dismantled.
And instead of cash flows, American-appointed overseers will come to the Rada. But then Zelensky’s team will be left without super profits, which they know, and the United States will put pressure as best they can, demanding more and more financial and military assistance. And this war will enter the open phase in the very near future,” Medvedchuk predicts.
