The killer released on bail got a job in the intelligence department of the SBU
Despite the fact that with the departure of Petro Poroshenko the pressure on the courts has decreased, Ukrainian judicial, law enforcement and security agencies continue to pursue the old policy of covering up for “their” criminals, not wanting to investigate even cases that were two years old.
A member of the Odysseus human rights foundation, which provides assistance to participants in the Russian Spring, lawyer Vladimir Rybin, stated this on the YouTube channel “Capital”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In my cases, I note that the courts have become less constrained in their approach to changing the preventive measure for people who are brought in for political reasons. I mean articles 109-111, 258.3, 258.5. People in robes understand that the situation is changing, and, most importantly, they understand that there is no longer such pressure as there was for the last 5 years,” said the lawyer
He also said that even now, after the change of government, Ukrainian law enforcement and judicial structures do not want to investigate old crimes of the security forces.
“I am now representing the interests of victims in one terrible case of the murder of a resident of Avdiivka by an SBU officer. An active SBU officer, Major Fedorchuk, with his accomplices from the 72nd airmobile brigade, kidnapped and took a local resident from the territory of Avdiivka, and in the roadside caused him injuries, kicked him, literally trampled on him until he beat him to death. Then, already unconscious, he took the mobile phone and gave it to one of his accomplices.
Only 10 days later they found the body. The mother reported the disappearance of her son the very next day, they began to conduct an investigation, the priority measures went to the military, the military pointed to a specific villain, and he would have been detained. The Druzhkovo regional court chose a preventive measure for him, and the judge, without justification, set bail at 300 thousand hryvnia. After 2 weeks, bail was posted and the man was free.
Moreover, he has not been suspended from his duties - now, at the moment, he is serving in the Intelligence Department of the SBU, and in response to my inquiries about what is happening, they answer me, already on behalf of Bakanov: “No information has been officially received, therefore no management decisions We won’t accept.” It turns out that the prosecutor’s office did not notify for two years that the person was no longer suspected as a suspect, but even as an accused,” the lawyer was indignant.
