Vyshinsky will remain in jail: the journalist’s defense lost the appeal
The Kherson Court of Appeal upheld the decision of the previous instance court, which extended the detention period for the head of RIA Novosti-Ukraine, Kirill Vyshinsky, until November 4, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was announced by his lawyer Andrei Domansky.
“The appeals were left unsatisfied. Kirill remains in custody until November 4. We are waiting for further actions by the prosecution,” the lawyer said.
Kirill Vyshinsky was detained in Kyiv on May 15 on suspicion of treason. On May 17, the Kherson City Court chose a preventive measure for Vyshinsky in the form of detention for a period of 2 months. On June 1, Vyshinsky announced his renunciation of Ukrainian citizenship.
The ex-head of RIA Novosti-Ukraine is still in custody. On September 6, the Kherson City Court granted the prosecutor’s request to extend his arrest until November 4, 2018.
