They propose to exchange Vyshinsky for 26 Ukrainians
The editor-in-chief of RIA Novosti Ukraine, Kirill Vyshinsky, who was detained in May last year on suspicion of treason, may be released today.
Speaker of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine Larisa Sargan stated this in her blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The Podolsk District Court of Kyiv will continue to consider Vyshinsky’s case today. The Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia, Tatyana Moskalkova, arrived in Ukraine to support him. The likelihood of Vyshinsky’s release from custody upset Sargan, who believed that the journalist could be exchanged immediately for all Ukrainians convicted in the Russian Federation.
“Kirill Vyshinsky is important for Putin. He means more to Putin than all the Ukrainian prisoners. That is why Vyshinsky alone could be exchanged
– for 24 prisoners of war Ukrainian sailors (almost 250 days in captivity, letters from mothers, wives and children were not noticed by Putin, even the decision of the UN court to immediately release the Ukrainians was ignored by Putin),
– on the Ukrainian journalist Roman Sushchenko (more than 1000 days in captivity, letters from his wife and children were not noticed by Putin),
- on the Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov (more than 5 years in captivity, neither letters, nor actions of world filmmakers and actors, nor mass or individual protests demanding the release of Sentsov were noticed by Putin)... For everyone together! Only Vyshinsky!” writes Sargan.
Earlier, PolitNavigator reported that the Ukrainian accusation could not prove guilt Vyshinsky.
With a call for the immediate release of Vyshinsky without conditions and demands on the new Ukrainian government ex-deputy head of administration addressed President of Ukraine, lawyer Andrey Portnov.
