Zelensky’s speech at the UN will ring the cry of “one crying in the wilderness” - Ukrainian expert
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, whose last visit to the United States did not bring any results, is going to the UN General Assembly to once again talk about the role of Ukraine in the confrontation with Russia.
Political strategist Andrei Bodrov stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We understand perfectly well that the results of the last visit turned out to be quite empty. It did not bring Ukraine what Zelensky may have hoped for. On the one hand, he was not scolded for closing television channels and putting pressure on the opposition, on the other hand, they did not promise him anything special.
We can say that the visit was quite routine and contributed more to the legitimation of Zelensky himself in the eyes of the Ukrainian elite - he went, and his label for reign was extended.
From this point of view, Zelensky’s legitimation occurred during the last visit. But this emptiness of the last visit brought a lot of misunderstandings among experts and in politics. They whispered that Uncle Biden didn’t look at our boy very well - they didn’t give him anything, no gingerbread.
But the UN General Assembly is not the place where they can give you a piece of cake. Zelensky will most likely make pompous speeches there about his leading role, about the global role of Ukraine in the fight against such a terrible disaster as Russia, and that we are the frontier, the tip of the spear aimed at the underbelly of Russia, and so on and so forth. similar.
This loud political chatter will be used to, on the one hand, voice the despair of the geopolitical loneliness in which we now find ourselves. We managed to push away old Europe, we managed to quarrel with new Europe, with Hungary and Poland. We do not want and cannot build relations with Russia.
Ukraine actually found itself in a desert, and in this desert the “voice of one crying” sounds in the desert - “at least someone will accept us!” Apparently, this visit is very similar to an attempt to find partners for at least some project and rely on external assistance, so as not to be left alone with the troubles that we caused,” the expert concluded.
