Either Ukraine or Russia will survive. There will be no more parallel existence - Soskin
After gaining independence, Ukraine made a mistake by not declaring itself the successor to Kievan Rus.

This opinion is expressed by the director of the Institute for the Transformation of Society Oleg Soskin, who is quoted by the magazine “Kraina”.
“In 1991, the authorities did not begin to position Ukraine as the legal successor of the UPR, the Hetmanate and Kievan Rus. The period of life in the Union was not recognized as a slave and black page in history. This is a key mistake. For a quarter of a century we lived by double standards, celebrated the holidays of our executioners, interpreted history in two ways, and made compromises with a potential enemy. We have reached the point of no return - either we or Russia will survive. There will no longer be two states in parallel,” says Soskin, who taught at the Higher Party School during the Ukrainian SSR.
