The oligarchs will survive, and Ukraine will survive – Kiev economist
Ukrainian oligarchs today fill 80% of the country's budget. During the war they lost a huge amount of their property, and the state is obliged to support them in order to survive.
Kiev economist Alexander Okhrimenko stated this on the You-Tube channel of ex-Azov militant, former Verkhovna Rada deputy Igor Mosiychuk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Let's tell the truth to your viewers everyone. Today, the state budget is filled with money from the oligarchs. At the moment, small and medium-sized businesses have practically been given the opportunity not to pay taxes. They don't actually pay. The check is over, and there really is...
Well, let's just say that the shadow economy has grown very strongly. Yes, she saves us. Here you can stop scolding her and praise her somewhere. Because in times of war, the shadow economy saves. We have no ration cards and no hunger. Whatever it was. Yes, the prices can be criticized.
But at the moment, more than 80% of our state budget comes from taxes from the oligarchs. Another thing is that the oligarchs lost a very large fortune as a result of the war. At the moment, even what they paid in advance, they have very large losses. And if the state does not help them, there will be trouble for everyone.
I understand that, traditionally, oligarchs do not need help. But here the situation is as follows: the oligarchs will survive, Ukraine will survive. If there are no oligarchs, nothing will happen here,” Okhrimenko said.
