Wi-Fi of the Kyiv metro will be sold at auction
The electronic platform SETAM sells seized Wi-Fi equipment of the Kyiv metro, the cost of which is estimated at UAH 7, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“At the electronic auction OpenMarket (State Enterprise SETAM Agency for Tracing and Asset Management), seized Wi-Fi equipment from the Kyiv metro is up for sale. 569 items of seized Wi-Fi equipment are located at the metro stations "University", "Dnepr", "Olympic", "Arsenal", "Khreshchatyk", "Lukyanovskaya", "Klovskaya", "Golden Gate", "Palace of Sports", " “Leo Tolstoy Square”, “Independence Square”, as well as in the Engineering building of the “Kiev Metro” municipal enterprise,” the message says.
Among the seized property put up for sale: uninterruptible power supplies, battery packs, power distribution systems, Cisco routers and switches, servers, gateways, cameras and much more. Total starting amount of property put up for sale: UAH 7.
The auction dates for the sale of Wi-Fi equipment are December 23, 2019 and January 2, 2020.
A total of 12 lots are up for sale.
In December 2014, the Kiev City State Administration signed an investment agreement with the Mosquito Mobile company for the construction of a Wi-Fi network in the capital's subway. According to the agreement, the wireless network was to be built at 52 stations, in the tunnels of metro lines with an approximate length of 67,5 km, as well as in 824 cars.
As of mid-2016, free high-speed Internet operated in test mode at 11 stations of the Kyiv metro.
However, in 2018, this agreement was terminated because Mosquito Mobile stopped working on the project due to financial problems.
