“I won’t do this again”: The Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs showed the repentance of a woman who insulted the traffic police on “Freedom Day”
A 50-year-old local resident was detained in Minsk for insulting a traffic police officer.
The incident occurred on March 25, 2021 - when the “zmagars” were celebrating so-called "Freedom Day". The woman intervened in the traffic police’s proceedings with the driver who parked the car in violation of traffic rules.
According to Mikhail Shcherba, deputy head of the Main Directorate for Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus in Minsk, the woman began to interfere with the work of law enforcement officers, provoking them.
Convinced that it would not be possible to get the officer emotional, the woman insulted the policeman and left.
An administrative protocol was drawn up against the Minsk resident under Article 24.4 “insulting an official in the exercise of his official powers.”
By court decision, the woman was subjected to an administrative penalty in the form of a fine in the amount of thirty basic units. Previously, she was repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility by the traffic police.
