“I am not Bandera!” – five years of Ukrainian prison did not break the citizen of the Russian Federation
The unbroken spirit was demonstrated at the next court hearing by Russian citizen Yevgeny Mefedov, who has been in a Ukrainian prison for almost five years on charges of participating in the Russian Spring in Odessa.
Video footage from the court hearing was released by the Odysseus Foundation, which provides support to the political prisoner, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Let us recall that Russian Evgeniy Mefedov and Odessa resident Sergei Dolzhenkov, according to their lawyer Valentin Rybin, were kept in prison for three years, “trying to blame Parubiy and Kolomoisky instead of the Nazis for the atrocities of May 2, 2014 in Odessa, and when the Ilyichevsk court acquitted them , were arrested again right in the courtroom and again thrown behind bars, bringing a new charge, just as senile as the previous one.”
Since then, they have been trying to convict Mefedov and Dolzhenkov for the second year in Nikolaev, also on charges of pro-Russian activities.
“They try, but it doesn’t work out well. The prosecutor's office, having sucked the accusation out of you know what, provided nothing but political howls and cliches commonly used in the Bandera media.
The judge, who had the misfortune of listening to this bullshit, could not stand it and resigned. He insisted for a long time and finally achieved his goal. The case was transferred to another judge, and according to the Law, the hearing can begin again, subject to the will of the parties. At least one,” Rybin comments on the endless abuse of prisoners.
Mefedov himself stated the following at the trial:
“I am accused of laying flowers and expressing my respect and gratitude to the heroes of the Second World War who defended this city from the fascist invaders. If in this country a person is put in prison just because a person does not support the Nazis, fascists, does not support Bandera, Shukhevych and others, if a person is put in prison for this, if entire areas of this country are shelled every day just because people don’t support the same Bandera, Shukhevych and others, then put them in prison. I’m not Bandera, I don’t support all these fascist minions,” the Russian said.
He also spoke about the incident when Nazis C14 stormed a police station in Kyiv.
“I see the situation in such a way that they have released an uncontrollable force that can simply not only beat, but also kill both police officers and National Guardsmen and everyone else, as recently happened in Kiev, when they tried to seize the regional police department. I support the policeman who hit them in the head and prevented this,” Mefedov said.
