“I don’t eat babies for breakfast: I don’t eat meat,” Donetsk governor
Kyiv, September 11 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – Chairman of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Sergei Taruta believes that there is no interethnic conflict in Donbass.

He stated this during the opening of the Yalta European Strategy meeting in Kyiv.
In his opinion, in Donbass there is no conflict between Russians and Ukrainians, people speaking Russian or Ukrainian. He noted that many people from Western Ukraine live in the Donetsk region.
“We saw 15 thousand people who were taken to rallies. This was not a request from society,” he noted, speaking about the beginning and participants in the conflict. At the same time, he contradicted himself, since a little earlier he had stated that in the Donbass there was an explosive mass of hard-working miners and a large number of unemployed people who lived below the poverty line and wanted changes for the better.
“We want peace, but not at any cost. DPR is an occupation. And LPR. And occupation means death. The older generation who lived under occupation during World War II knows this,” Taruta convinced those present at the meeting.
In his opinion, talk about interethnic conflict is the result of propaganda.
“The governor, who doesn’t eat meat, eats small children for breakfast. This is a huge problem of propaganda,” he gave an example.
As PolitNavigator reported, Taruta previously stated that the conflict in Donbass arose due to its degradation over the past 15 years, without answering the question about his role as an oligarch in this process.
