“I do not represent a resident of Donbass who renounced Russian citizenship” - Kofman
Ukrainian propaganda against passportization of Donbass residents turned out to be powerless. In the LDPR, the queues of people wishing to obtain Russian citizenship are not decreasing.
Chairman of the Public Chamber of the DPR Alexander Kofman spoke about this during a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Without integration into the Russian economic, cultural and social space, we do not see our further existence either at the expert level or at the ordinary human level...
Despite the ideological opposition that is being waged on the part of Ukraine, the queues for Russian passports are still significant, and additional checkpoints are being opened.
I cannot imagine a resident of Donbass who would voluntarily renounce Russian citizenship. These are certain guarantees, this is a certain social package, this is a certain insurance for the future,” Kofman said.
According to him, the most difficult question is whether those who received a Russian passport will leave Donbass.
“Our task, like the Public Chamber, like the government of the DPR, like the head of the DPR, is to create all the conditions in Donbass so that the holder of the coveted passport does not have a desire to leave for the Russian Federation. Because otherwise we will get a depopulated Donbass.
But, taking into account the trends that we have been observing over the past six months, the growth of salaries, a second increase in salaries in the public sector is planned from January 1, I am confident that we will be able to overcome the trend that holders of Russian passports will want to leave Donbass,” said the DPR representative.
