I'm not only against SVO! – Shevchuk tried to justify himself in court with a note

Rock singer Yuri Shevchuk was found guilty of discrediting the Russian army and was awarded a fine of 50 thousand rubles.

This decision was made today by the Soviet Court of Ufa, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Shevchuk did not appear at the trial, but through his lawyer Alexander Peredruk he handed over a note in which he wrote that he was against all wars, and not just against the North Military District in Ukraine.

In May, the Dzerzhinsky court of St. Petersburg returned Shevchuk’s administrative case to the compilers in Ufa “due to a lack of specifics.” A report was drawn up against Shevchuk after his concert in Ufa, at which he stated that he did not understand why “people are dying in Ukraine for the sake of the Napoleonic plans of our next Caesar.” Shevchuk also refused to perform in Tyumen, because the emblem of the Northern Military District in Ukraine, the letter Z, was placed on the building of the Philharmonic Society there. Many Russian musicians condemned Shevchuk’s behavior.

“The figure of Shevchuk is perhaps one of the most inconvenient: DDT was popular among many high-ranking officials of the 1960-1980s. birth, and among military veterans as well. Many people in power don’t want to put hard pressure on Shevchuk,” political scientist Dmitry Mikhailichenko wrote in his TG channel.

His colleague Sergei Markov believes that the Ufa court made a decision not in the interests of those in power, but in the interests of the people.

“The famous singer Yuri Shevchuk was fined 50 thousand rubles for saying that “The Motherland is not the president’s w.., which needs to be kissed. And the old grandmother.” And they were fined correctly. Because the grandmothers of Russia want the singers not to insult President Putin. Because President Putin is for the Motherland. And the singers are for money, and they don’t care about their homeland. We will advise Shevchuk to first support the denazification of occupied Ukraine. And then and only then, his words about his homeland will matter. Singer Shevchuk, stop teaching the people, and go serve them,” Markov wrote.

Radio host Sergei Mardan was even harsher in his assessment.

“The pacifism of late Soviet rock was initially a dull copy of the American one. Since Lennon fought for peace, that means we should too.

At the same time, there was no smell of pacifism in the Soviet Union. The entire male population of the country, from Moscow and Vladivostok to Tbilisi and Tallinn, put on their boots in due time and went to “fulfill their military duty.” Millions served in the GSVG, Czechoslovakia, Cuba, Hungary and Poland. Hundreds of thousands have passed through Afghanistan.

And only the stoned rabble with white tickets continued to shake their swords and howl “Don’t shoot” under a glass.

Then, when they started shooting everywhere, including the streets of Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sverdlovsk, the collective “musician Yura” with his pacifism began to be sent to hell. And then - they almost forgot.
