"I made a mistake." Poklonskaya repented for criticizing the authors of “Matilda”
Former prosecutor of Crimea, deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Natalya Poklonskaya said that she regrets a number of her actions.
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, the politician stated this in an interview published today by Komsomolskaya Pravda.
“I am truly Ukrainian. This is not something bad, on the contrary, it’s very good,” the politician said.
The newspaper also recalled that during her first time in Moscow, her interlocutor walked around with a portrait of the Tsar and harshly criticized the creators of the film “Matilda.”
“I think I made a mistake. Why force the idea on people that they have to be good and watch only good things? People themselves must choose: they will be bad, evil, disgusting or kind, beautiful. Yes, the insult to the memory (of the emperor) really hurt me and still hurts me. There were facts of fraud with budget money that was allocated for this film by the Ministry of Culture. I sent them to the prosecutor's office, but they didn't reveal anything. The result was zero. And of course, the media presented me with the idea that I walk around with icons. The image of such a sect, yes,” the deputy answered.
“And suddenly you changed! You, the most Christian of politicians, said that Halloween is a wonderful holiday. And the photo was published in Ukrainian attire - in an embroidered shirt. The people were amazed: what happened to Poklonskaya? Either she is against Ukraine, then she is Ukrainian, then she fought with Matilda, now she is for Halloween,” the journalist is perplexed.
“Dmitry Sergeevich Likhachev said that the person who does not change his opinion, does not change his position, is a fake person. Not an intellectual. […] I am changing. If someone doesn't like it, well, forgive me. I’m developing,” Poklonskaya summed up.
