“I won’t survive there” – a Svidomo Crimean told why he can’t move to Ukraine
An ordinary Crimean pensioner, even if he loves Ukraine very much, cannot afford to leave the peninsula and move to this poor country with tiny pensions and sky-high utility rates.
This broadcast of the Kyiv TV channel “Nash” was announced by a viewer who introduced himself as a resident of Crimea Leonid, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I am from occupied Crimea. And today I went to pay for gas and paid 700 rubles. In 2014 they told me: “move, everything will be fine with us.” I would like to move, but how will I live there on 1700 hryvnia?
And here I have a two-room apartment, the boiler burns day and night, I don’t turn it off. And he paid 700 rubles. And 300 rubles for the light,” he said in Ukrainian.
The Crimean resident emphasized that he would really like to move to Ukraine, but he cannot, because he cannot survive on a tiny pension, while in Crimea he has enough money.
“I want to move to Ukraine, but I can’t. Because I won't survive there. And here I don’t receive any help, the pension is minimal - 9500 rubles for me and 10500 rubles for my wife, we get 20 thousand together. We spend three thousand a month on utilities, home repairs, internet, etc.,” the viewer added.
