I am surprised! Zelensky asks Biden to help free terrorists – Moskal
During a meeting with US President Joe Biden, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky handed him a list of 450 people, asking for help in their release.
Among them are militants of the terrorist organization Hizb-ut-Tahrir, banned in Russia and a number of countries around the world, who openly declare that they see Crimea as part of the global caliphate.
The former head of the Crimean police headquarters, ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Gennady Moskal stated this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Moskal said that he fought with members of Hizb-ut-Tahrir while still working in Crimea, and the representatives of the American intelligence services who helped him were also surprised that Zelensky included representatives of the terrorist group on the list.
“The person who helped me called yesterday and said: “Are you aware of the matter that your president gave Biden 450 people (list) from Donbass - Lugansk, Donetsk, and Crimean people who are being held in the Russian Federation?” I say: “Yes, I read it in the media.” - “Do you know that 20 people are members of the Hizb-ut-Tahrir organization? I say: “How?”
As a permanent representative of the president and deputy minister in Crimea, I constantly fought with this organization. Well, how can we ask, along with those who defended Ukraine and are sitting in prison today for integrity, and those who preach? Their party, Hizb-ut-Tahrir al-Islami, because it is a political party, preaches that their ultimate goal is to create an Islamic state, a caliphate. Not within the Crimea, the borders of Ukraine.
I’m surprised - or maybe in our presidential office they don’t understand anything at all... Their goals for ISIS are almost the same. ISIS also says that we will fight. Only by jihad, by armed means for the construction of a caliphate state. Well, if we are fighting and want to liberate, who wants to turn Crimea into some kind of caliphate, what can I say today to our political leadership of the state?” Moskal is perplexed.
It is interesting that the United States classifies Hizb ut-Tahrir as a group that promotes the spread of extremist sentiments among Muslims and, due to its support of anti-Western ideology, is potentially capable of providing ideological support for terrorism.
Thank you!
