“I’m in sober mind”: Arestovich refused to go to the front
Aleksey Arestovich, a retired former adviser to the office of the President of Ukraine, who promised to go to the front in the event of the entry of Russian troops, refused to do so.
On the air of the Lvov NTA TV channel, he said that his front is informational, and in the event of mobilization, millions of Ukrainians will be left “without psychological support,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“You can send me to the front, but I am at the front. The information-psychological front is, of course, not a war in the trenches, but it is a very important section of the front. I think there’s no need to even prove this – it’s completely understandable,” the ex-official said.
He says that as an officer, he's "trained to be where I'm most effective."
“Well, what do you think, if I go to the front now and lose the opportunity to continue information and psychological activities, will it be better for the country and society? In a sober mind we think - this whole story stops with what I give to the information space, that I psychologically support a huge number of people, and begin to do something there as a lieutenant colonel, at the front.
For example, a battalion commander - well, it will be good for my battalion, it will be good for our neighbors on the right and left, but these are not millions of people. Just imagine these numbers. I’m not bragging, I’m just talking from the outside,” said Arestovich.
Let us recall that Arestovich’s resignation was preceded by his admission that a residential building in Dnepropetrovsk was destroyed as a result of Ukrainian air defense actions.
