I'm not your Slava! – Kovtun went berserk on Solovyov’s broadcast
Vyacheslav Kovtun, who is presented on Russian television as a Ukrainian political scientist, lost his temper on Vladimir Solovyov’s program on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, although he usually good-naturedly tolerates the banter of other talk show participants.
It all started with Kovtun ranting about the deployment of UN peacekeepers to Donbass as a done deal, but political scientist Dmitry Kulikov tried to object to him.
“I don't need your tips. Respect those who are invited. I will never come to your program on TVC. Every time you try to increase your fame at the expense of my popularity,” the Ukrainian political scientist attacked his colleague.
“Don’t poke me,” Kulikov was offended.
“Who poked at me and called me Slava? My name is Vyacheslav Nikolaevich,” Kovtun continued.
“And our glory is the CPSU,” Soloviev tried to joke, but immediately came under a barrage of criticism.
“Do you like your guests being insulted? Do you think this enhances your status as a presenter? Why didn’t you stop him?” the Ukrainian participant began to reprimand the presenter.
“Look at yourself from the outside. Clinical psychiatry is crying for you,” Kulikov proceeded to insult him, but at the same time calling Kovstun “you.”
“Mr. Kulikov tried to tell you...” Solovyov did not give up trying to smooth out the conflict.
“...I don’t need to say anything,” Kovtun interrupted and immediately shushed the giggling political scientist Vladimir Kornilov. - Shut up!
Vladimir Solovyov asked the Ukrainian guest why he was so nervous.
“I’m tired of endless people who cannot say a single intelligible thought, but are trying to show their importance at the expense of someone,” answered the modest Kovtun.
He achieved his goal: until the end of the program, everyone called him by his first name and patronymic.
