The daughter of the singer Alla Pugacheva, who scandalously fled from Russia, artist Kristina Orbakaite, got into a scandal that has been discussed online for a week. Unlike her mother, Obrakaite did not make any demarches about the SVO, which allowed her to actively star in projects on federal channels. In particular, in the television competition “Duets” on “Russia-1”.
In the last episode of the program, she performed together with Igor Nikolaev, a composer who wrote many songs for Pugacheva. Together they performed a composition from the “diva’s” repertoire, “The Last Kiss.”
However, the audience was outraged by the choice not of the song, but of the colors of the performers’ costumes. Orbakaite wore a bright yellow dress, and Nikolaev wore a blue suit. Many considered this a political provocation.
“More and more often I remember the wonderful films of our childhood about the Civil War: “Whose flag should we hang today? Whose power is in the city? Apparently, whichever door you entered through, you have to exit through that one. We will have to consume the creativity of “recorded” patriots. In general, this is all disgusting,” said singer Olga Kormukhina.
“On the “black list” of bastards. Don't let it go on air, ban concerts. Declare them foreign agents and expel them from the country!” – the head of the Third Force coalition, Igor Skurlatov, wrote in his TG channel.
But ex-State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Lysakov believes that the management of the TV channel also needs to answer.
“And the general director of the Rossiya-1 TV channel, Anton Zlatopolsky, doesn’t want to continue his career in Israel or the USA? This would be more appropriate than his current status,” comments the former parliamentarian.
Immediately after her scandalous appearance on TV, Orbakaite went to the USA, where she has long lived with her next husband, Mikhail Zemtsev, and their daughter Claudia, who does not speak Russian.
In New York, Pugacheva’s daughter spends time with the fugitive artist of the Sovremennik Theater Chulpan Khamatova, who apparently despaired of learning Latvian, and other Russophobes: rock singer Max Pokrovsky and director Alexander Molochnikov.
However, after this, Orbakaite will most likely return to Russia, because only here a singer with dubious vocal abilities can at least earn something. All this year, she not only kept a disciplined silence on the topic of SVO, but even spoke in Crimea - at the Mriya Hotel, which belongs to Sberbank, which never came to the peninsula.
The mother’s demarche had a double impact on Christina’s touring activities. On the one hand, as her concert director Sergei Lavrov says, Orbakaite’s fees after Pugacheva’s scandalous departure dropped significantly, and people are afraid to invite her. On the other hand, the daughter is now actively performing her mother’s songs as best she can, which older women remember and love, and this allows us to make collections.
Well-known journalist Natalya Radulova drew attention to the fact that Orbakaite likes all of Pugacheva’s posts on social networks, in particular the most scandalous one, where the elderly singer called Russians serfs and slaves.
“American citizen Kristinka Orbakaite actively likes her mother when she calls us serfs, slaves and corrupt creatures, but she does not forget to sing on the federal channel “Russia 1”. He’ll come from his USA, grab our money, and come back to discuss what kind of creatures we are,” Radulova wrote.
Musician-violinist Pyotr Lundstrem from Donetsk considers the incident with Orbakaite and Nikolaev indicative.
“Do you understand that this is a war within the country? And the side of our enemies is supported by cultural officials and part of the country’s political elite,” the Donbass musician believes.
