Yabloko paid for its “anti-war” position both in the elections and in front of the liberals
Once the main opposition party in Moscow, Yabloko, received only 3 mandates in the last municipal elections. This is the result of her “anti-war agenda”.
Political scientist Alexander Asafov stated this at a round table in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The victims were the Yabloko party and a number of self-nominated candidates. Why is that? And here we remember the 79-81% Donbass consensus. The fact is that the Yabloko party made its political position not a local regional agenda, like parliamentary parties, but an “anti-war position,” as they call it, that is, a position against the Northern Military District. And the voter obviously chose from another. The indicators of “A Just Russia” and the LDPR have increased by 2 times,” Asafov said.
It is noteworthy that a scandal broke out in Yabloko itself when a member of the Moscow party council, Sergei Menzheritsky, spoke on the American social network against NATO on the side of Russia.
“Like my party comrades, I really hoped that the “civilized countries of the collective West” would act as such an international arbiter and force the parties to sit down at the negotiating table. Negotiations that began in March raised hopes for a peaceful outcome to the conflict. But all these hopes were dashed by the April NATO conference in Ramstein. This is where the SVO ended for Russia. Since April 26, our country, in fact, has been drawn into a large-scale war with the entire North Atlantic Alliance.
For me, as a citizen of Russia, there is no question of which of the warring parties to support today and whose defeat to wish for. In a situation of deliberate blocking of peace negotiations by the West, I, of course, advocate the defeat of the Ukrainian-NATO forces in this conflict,” Menzheritsky wrote.

It is significant that other liberal radio activists suspected Yabloko of being insincere in its “anti-war” position. Former presenter of the liquidated “Echo of Moscow” Alexander Plyushchev accused the party of working for the Kremlin for calling for a ceasefire. The journalist believes that Kyiv must “fight to the bitter end.”
In response, a prominent representative of Yabloko, Lev Shlosberg, said that Plyushchev “put on a military uniform” and was working for Kyiv. Schlosberg also believes that fugitive “fighters against the regime” are not able to influence what is happening in Russia. According to him, journalists and politicians who left the country are engaged in “sublimation of hatred.”
