As Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the government asks President Petro Poroshenko to define the bill as urgent.
According to Yatsenyuk, the introduction of a foreign contingent is necessary to “restore full control of the Ukrainian state over certain territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, as well as restore full control over the state border of Ukraine between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.”
Ukraine’s goal is “to remove Russian occupiers and aggressors from the territory of Ukraine as quickly as possible,” Yatsenyuk emphasized.
