For example, former Minister of Economy of Ukraine Viktor Suslov says that his coalition agreement was disappointing primarily because the document does not contain an analysis of the causes of the difficult economic situation in Ukraine, which means that “without a diagnosis, any treatment will not be effective.”

“But there is a huge list of purely random measures,” the analyst pointed out during a round table in Kyiv. - From the government apparatus they tell me that all this was done using the stacking method. We collected from ministries and departments to see what anyone would offer. You are reading a huge list of meaningless points. Does it matter that the Antimonopoly Committee will at some point have to invite representatives to consider its issues?”

The agreement has a lot of tertiary points, but many strategic issues are missing, the expert points out.

“There is nothing about whether Ukraine will continue to be in the CIS or will leave it,” the former Minister of Economy marvels. – Are you going to participate in a free trade zone, which is valuable for our economy? This direction does not seem to exist for us, although the CIS still accounts for 31 percent of Ukrainian exports. But we don’t define our policy here in any way.”

What also unpleasantly surprised the financier was the lack of a sober assessment of his capabilities.

“It’s unpleasant to read that we will be among the top twenty leading countries in the world in terms of ease of doing business,” emphasizes Viktor Suslov. – That we will enter the European markets and conquer them with our high-tech products with high added value, displacing Germany and others. You can dream about anything, but this is populism. And this entire agreement is permeated with populism. Therefore, we will inevitably slide into politics leading to inevitable collapse.”
