This was stated, in particular, at a press conference in Kyiv by the President of the Association “Ukrainian Agricultural Business Club” Alex Lissitsa, who indicated that the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers and especially the Ministry of Finance considered agriculture extremely profitable and decided to take away all preferences from the industry.
“Of course, some high-margin segments are profitable,” the expert admitted. – But the problem is that next year, when preferential preferences are taken away from peasants, everyone switches to growing soybeans, wheat, sunflowers, then the question arises: who will deal with buckwheat, carrots, and corn? But the Ministry of Finance does not think that far. It will be winter, and they don’t know whether they will last through the winter... The government is only thinking two or three weeks ahead, so they can go to a press conference and say how good everything is with us, and it will be even better.”
